  •  OMG you know my mom?? (7+ / 0-)

Im not kidding.  Same thing!!!  For years I have been leaving extra tip money under my plate if I lose the fight for the check - one area Ms. Wildkat and I agree!  Bottom line is I want to be able to go BACK to most of those places and not have the staff look at me like Im BFFs with Mitt Romney.

I used to get angry about it but now I just accept it as one of those things that happens when we get older.  I have no doubt I will be embarrassing my children with something - OMG he still plays his PS5!!! - when I am my moms age.

an aside - I left a 90% tip for a small bar bill last week because the waitress got me out of there before the 25 other people I was with could start haggling over their separate checks that they were unclear about when they arrived.  Worth every dime!!!

    •  It really gets to me when we've gotten extras (6+ / 0-)

of stuff - like being snuck extra bread because hey who's counting when every meal on the order was supposed to come with some - and then she tries to tip $3 for 5 people when we were sitting at one of the group tables because the place usually caters to groups of 4 of fewer.

And oh good lord, the times the entire family tries to go and trying to get a decent tip for a party of ten - again, usually tables of four so YES furniture got moved by the staff - when she's gotten sticker shock over the meal being $7- $10 a head.

      Inflation. Happened. Damnit.
