    They are starting to discover that gluten affects mood disorders in sensitive individuals.  You might want to try that to see if it helps.  although I don't have a problem with addiction, I know I feel more positive and sleep better now that I've gotten off the gluten completely.

      when I first experenced my most major depressive episode they had me give up gluten. Back then it was very difficult, not like today.

      But my diet these days is gluten free, sugar free, high protein, a HUGE challenge because I am vegetarian, was vegan but had to add some things to get more protein and more choices.

      Sleep deprivation was and continues to be the major precipitating factor in my mood (dis)orders.
