feels like a rest day even though Ann and I have a lot to do.  We worked a cat show this weekend -- one with over 200 pedigreed cats.  It was held at a local hotel in a big room that had been carved out of their parking structure and it was so cold.  Their miserable excuse of an HVAC system just was not handling the freezing weather we've been having.  Our table was by some un-caulked windows and we were just blue with cold on Saturday because we weren't prepared.  I literally could not feel my feet at the end of the day.  Yesterday, we wore thermals and layers and warmer coats and it was much better -- but that really was an ordeal.  The middle of the room, where the cats were, was somewhat better -- but still...  I can't imagine what the hotel was thinking because those are very valuable animals and their owners are quite protective of them.

It was interesting to see all the fancy cats and the cat people, though.  Many of the people do sort of look like their cats...and many of the women appeared to "wear" their cats, like an accessory.  Nothing like a fine, fluffy Persian to set off an outfit!  Actually, I was coveting the fluffy cats -- they just looked warm...!

We made a new friend, a woman who paints pet portraits, at the table next to ours.  We're going to see that she becomes a Kossack and get her signed up for Kos Katalogue.

    •  Did you do good there? (5+ / 0-)

Business wise I mean. Hope so. BTW, the money for MB's quilt went out this AM in a card. I was kinda distracted Saturday.

And daddy won't you take me back to Muhlenberg County Down by the Green River where Paradise lay. Well, I'm sorry my son, but you're too late in asking Mister Peabody's coal train has hauled it away. John Prine

      •  {{{{{{{hu}}}}}}} thanks! (3+ / 0-)

No, we didn't do so well -- but this was our first introduction to these people.  Cat breeders are kind of reserved -- they need to get to know you.  We'll do more of these shows and I'm sure we'll make some good friends.

Just make sure you tell everyone you meet that their kitty is the most beautiful cat you have ever seen. It's not really lying, all cats know that it's true.
