  •  I have called 211 twice in two weeks (4+ / 0-)

here in NY state. About my mother in KY. Mother is currently at my sister's house in KY; I let her know about 211 as well.

Seems to be good people on call, wondering how bad the crisis is (and it's bad) and wondering if I am in my right mind as well.

We know about 911, 411, now 211. I think there is a 311. For something. We should get drills on these numbers starting in grade school so that there are outreach people who might be helpful.

    •  You are right- there is a 3-1-1 (4+ / 0-)

for non emergency services in many cities.  Wikipedia tells us so hopefully it is true for your town.  I am glad to hear it is working for you- or at least available to help you get connected with services in another state as well.
