Democratic Party site. I will say that I agree with Chris Hedges about the need for a mass social movement that pressures the Democratic Party to change. I believe that a mass social movement that could compel the Democratic Party to change is possible and that movement could move into the Democratic Party at the local level and push for change from the bottom up. Unfortunately we don't have a lot of time and we have a great deal of distance to make up, we just have to run harder and move more purposefully to achieve the change workers in America need.

If electoral politics fails us, if activism and hard work are a dead end, then we have a problem with no solution, short of violence. I refuse to believe this, I believe we can change the political equation, it has been done in the past and we are no less a people than Americans in times past.

    •  Totally agree with you there. (0+ / 0-)

I was simply asking a question -- there will be some, perhaps many Democrats like Feinstein and Schumer, who will not be successfully primaried, and my question is, should we vote for them anyway?

I'm not advocating one option or another.

the question is who is going to replace her and as I am in California, I will be working hard to support a progressive candidate to take her place. I would like to see Schumer primaried, if for no other reason than to give him a Di Blasio type of challenger that may push him to the left. In the general I will always vote against Republicans, it is in the Party machinery that we have to work, County Committees, City Councils etc...
