    for a funeral, to the Lutheran church I attended as a youth.
    My big impression- if you asked any of the Lutheran parishioners there what the difference between  Lutheranism, Methodism, or any other Protestant sect is, they'd give you a blank look, say "Who cares?" and then become very resentful at the "uppity, prying" question.
    That's the way it is- Protestants in general have no idea of their own church history or theology.
    Kind of makes me feel bad, in a way. Another old folkway disappearring, I guess.
