So this is a war to you, or a game?

What, exactly, are you winning?  Or, could it be that you're trying to goad the diarist, who is obviously emotional about this issue, into saying something that would get them HRs?

Diarist is ranting about people who resist any kind of gun controls.  If that's not you, than you shouldn't take it personally.

That I didn't give him one boils down to empathy.

      HR the diary.

It's not a war or a game. But with some limited exception (Cali, Colorado, NY), the firearm law trend across the country for the last 15 years has been to liberalize, not restrict.

policy sense and not referring to wars or games. i find it kind of insulting to insinuate that at all.

if those in favor of more gun restrictions can't even have realistic discussions with gun owning Democrats, how in the world will they ever get anywhere at all with Indies or gopers? how will we win elections when so many are single issue voters?

it would really be something if we had a magic wand to wave that would eliminate all the problems associated with some people who posses guns. but seriously, i don't see it happening anytime soon.

we can bicker back and forth about this until the cows come home but we'll solve nothing. to many of us gun owners a more realistic way to go about it is by enforcing laws that are already in place, perhaps enacting some realistic legislation that might actually work, and strategizing instead of just doing things that might appear effective on the surface.

and yes, dealing with mental health in this country might be THE place to start followed closely by changing drug laws that only create turf wars. also, how about public service announcements reminding people to secure their guns where kids can't access them?

yes some gun owners are complete idiots...just like people in all other aspects of society. welcome to the human race.

    •  Neither. (0+ / 0-)

      It is a right.

And just as with any other right enjoyed by innocent Americans, I will support keeping it for them.

Those who would sacrifice liberty for security deserve neither.
