  •  Wow !!! The opposite happens in the south at times (3+ / 0-)

where customers will complain that the store or restaurant personnel did gay God Bless You when they sneezed or that the employee refused to answer the question...So what church do you go to ?

This is so unfortunate what happened to your wife, Yikes.

    •  WHen I worked as reference librarian (0+ / 0-)

for Jacksonville Public Library. I was asked many times during my 18 months there what church I attended. I told them I was raised Catholic (TRUE). I did n;t to tell a bunch of non-denomationals and Batists I was Wiccan.  I already had one tell me Jesus wouldn't love me unless I changed my ways (translation: did what she wanted as soon as she wanted it, although I was a librarian and she was clerical staff and I outranked her). She comp[lained to the  branch manager. WHen I told him what actually happened, he laughed, especially when I added, "I wanted to ask her if she had some special calling plan for her talks with Jesus, since those long distance calls were really expensive!"
I prefer to fly under the radar here int he South. It is safer.

The last time we mixed religion and politics people got burned at the stake.
