I am a HuffPost refugee from way back. I left right after they changed the way you could comment.

In my opinion, their comment moderation methods frequently seemed to target comments that were critical of HuffPost in general or their narrative of the day.

By the time Ariana Huffington was calling for VP Joe Biden to resign, it became clear that HuffPost was more interested in clicks and sensationalism than common sense or a genuine conversation. I was glad that I was long gone.

It did not help to learn that HuffPost' paid their writers with "access" instead of cash, then sold that content they acquired for free for very big bucks.

When you were shopping for the highest bidder HuffPost, it's interesting that you wanted the maximum amount of cash and stocks you could get, rather than "access."

Forcing people into Facebook is a ridiculous move for a platform that wants to reach a wide swath of diverse opinions.

But then how many times do I have to watch what HuffPost does to realize that they have never really been about having a diverse group of people having a genuine conversation about the issues of the day.

"I am not interested in picking up crumbs of compassion thrown from the table of someone who considers himself my master. I want the full menu of rights." (From "You Said a Mouthful" by Bishop Desmond Tutu - South African bishop & activist, b.1931)

Just about every change made to the site has been for the worse.

It was her site and of course her's to sell, but in the end... she comes of simply as someone who cared more about money than the contribution her site made to the Liberal Cause.

In the end the commenting was anything but a "free" expression of opinion.

What a shameful waste of a formerly good site.
