    I lived close enought to the Sound that, on certain nights when the wind and humidity aligned, I could smell the rejuvanative salt air.

    Fondest memory of the San Juans? There are many; one of the more evocative ones was spending a cool autumn day on Shaw, taking down some fifty gypsy moth traps at seasons-end......

      I don't live on the waterfront, in fact it's a quarter mile away. But when I go outside in the morning I can smell it wafting in if the wind is right. It's the aroma of life. Deep breath.
