  •  I was involved in one similar situation (7+ / 0-)

Things had progressively deterioriated over a series of depositions.  We filed a motion for sanctions, and the judge said, in nearly these words,

"I don't know who started this, but I'm going to finish it.  Here is my order: Objections are to be made with one word: Objection.  If the person asking the question asks for the ground of the objection, the grounds are to be stated briefly and succinctly.  Every word that is uttered by an attorney on either side in making or arguing about objections, beyond the limits I have set, will incur a fine of $10 per word."

The crap stopped immediately, because if it had continued, it would have cost the guy who started it thousands of dollars per deposition.

Bin Laden is dead. GM and Chrysler are alive.

    •  Heh. Nice. (0+ / 0-)

I suppose the other party could just halt the deposition if the harassment became extreme...especially if it was being videotaped.
