  •  I really liked Ben Winter's first two volumes of a (4+ / 0-)

planned trilogy-"The Last Policeman" and "Countdown".  I also liked "The Expats" by Chris Pavone. I'm very fond of the Spencer Quinn Chet and Bernies mysteries:  "Dog on It", "Thereby Hangs a Tail", "To Fetch a Thief", "The Dog Who Knew Too Much, "A Fistful of Collars" and the latest, which I'm reading right now, "The Sound and the Furry". They really are funny. The story is told by the dog. I love all of Kate Atkinson's books including the latest, "Life After Life", which isn't really a mystery, I suppose. I started reading the Margaret Atwood's MaddAddam trilogy. But those aren't really mysteries either although there are a lot of mysteries in the plot. I saw a Swedish mystery writer speak at a local bookstore, bought her book and am now hooked on Camilla Lackberg. Her first book, "The Ice Princess" is engagingly character driven.
