    to help sell this austerity budget (which, as digby points out, is worse than Paul Ryan's original budget) to the masses. Presumably this is intended to convince the gullible Dem base that this is indeed a good deal, that the tea caucus is on the run. Then, of course, when unemployment benefits come up, the other shoe will drop and they'll be forced to make some kind of "compromise" to the far right in order to get that through...

    With Pelosi encouraging the Democratic caucus to "embrace the suck", we can expect beatings to continue (in true bipartisan fashion).

      That's what Boehner is doing.  He knows that his party is in toilet and he's working to get the Independent vote in 2014.  Don't for a minute think that Heritage et al didn't know what he'd be doing.  After all, even he can be primaried.

      Never be afraid to voice your opinion and fight for it . Corporations aren't people, they're Republicans (Rev Al Sharpton 10/7/2011) Voting is a louder voice than a bullhorn but sometimes you need that bullhorn to retain your vote.

      WHY are "democrats" in congress supporting this budget?
