  •  Merry Yule to all of you! (9+ / 0-)

We have been searching for a new canine family member for some weeks now and have met and settled on one, a 2 year old male part German Shepherd, part Alaskan Malamute currently named Deuce. He's friendly, needs obedience school with us although he knows some commands, very affectionate, and all around a good, nice dog. He got neutered today and that's included in his adoption fee. I suspect we will go get him the morning of Christmas Eve and bring him to his forever home with us. He and Bitty got to meet each other and there is going to be some adjustment required. I'm also told he chases cats, and he's going to learn pretty quickly that that's not allowed. I don't know if our cats will stand up for themselves, but we will stand up for them.

I'm really happy about this. He seems like a great dog and this is the mix that my first dog, Schatzie, was. His fur felt so familiar to me that it almost made me cry.

I hope all of you have a wonderful Yule (Solstice), Christmas, Kwanzaa, Festivus, and any other holiday(s) you celebrate at this time of year, and that New Years is fun and safe. May you achieve your heart's desire.
