  •  Tinseltown has to sell movies to everyone (12+ / 0-)

They know pro-choice types will pay to see a film where a woman "chooses" to continue a pregnancy, but the Anti's won't pay to watch a woman have a abortion and get on with her life with no regrets or bad consequences for her choice.

It's the same calculation that drives them to make films with disposable and interchangable female characters: they know men won't pay to see girly movies, but women will sit through action films. Further, when the action films are repackaged for non-Western markets, the scenes with female characters are excised altogether.

So, yes, you're right that Hollywood has a bias against abortion and independent women, and they always have. It's very, very calculated, and it makes it very difficult for me to sit through much of what passes for entertainment today. I know they're gaming the audience, and I don't feel like giving them my money while they do it.
