    or about 15% is outside the area where there is currently meaningful data. However, in my view it is not enough to cause any significant disruption in employment. The data on the impact of minimum wage increases is mixed, although the consensus is that modest increases have no negative impact on employment.

    I think the real debate is what happens if you have a national rate that doubles from the current $7.25? We have no data on how that would impact employment.

      2% lower employment per 10% change in min wag for employees making less than the new minimum.

      In this case for DC, a 15% increase would mean about 3% lower employment for those making less than $9.50/hr.

      like the people who are making $7.50 an hour and trying to live in friggin Brooklyn or Oakland or where ever have to adapt. Who knows some folks might not be able to afford the latest i phone but i bet they get by.
