  •  Republicans are as popular as an STD (6+ / 0-)

We need to build up our own courage to run a quality, visionary leader who isn't afraid to lead.

We have nothing to fear from the GoP.  Go for it, let's do it right this time instead of getting fooled by the corporate class.

If cutting Social Security & Medicare benefits for low income seniors is what Democrats do after they win a budget standoff, I'd hate to see what they do after they lose one.

      I'm not.
That's the only difference. I'd prefer a better Dem for President but I dont' underestimate the level of brainwashing in the general public. The Reps lie. Obama doesn't get credit for the good things he DID do, and the press follows Rep memes and doesn't report the actual truth anymore, quite largely.

Romney won way too much of the vote and he was a terrible candidate.

Wish you were right, think it isn't enough. What the average person now thinks doesn't translate into votes so much nowadays. Especially with the voter suppression...women in TX for example will be greatly held back from voting, statistically millions willl be impacted.
If there is little/less enthusiasm about our nominee whoever it is, many will not show to jump through so many hoops. Including ethnic minorities and poor people being held back now from voting.

My main argument is that sure, what I say isn't certain, but it has a solid percentage of likelyhood. More people who are and will get by ok with a Rep President are willing to risk the harm of one than those of us who would be harmed.Understandable but alarming.

It is about relative risk. People in a good enough place, whether you yourself are on not, are more likely to feel ok with the risk than those of us who's lives may be at risk. Human nature. But it must be said. In doing a cost/benefit analysis I think I can see the benefits as well as you can but I feel I see the costs more clearly. When the costs are intangible to people, and I used to be like this as I said, it's easy to choose the option more appealing to the soul and one's true politics and ignore or deny the reality of the immediate situation.
