  •  NSA loses Feinstein (9+ / 0-)

Guardian: Feinstein: NSA phone surveillance 'important' but not 'indispensable'

The influential chairwoman of the Senate intelligence committee said on Tuesday that the National Security Agency’s bulk collection of American phone records, savaged by a federal judge a day earlier, was not “indispensable” for preventing terrorism.

In an interview with MSNBC on Tuesday, senator Dianne Feinstein, a California Democrat who has been a staunch supporter of the National Security Agency, urged the supreme court to determine its constitutionality.

“I’m not saying it’s indispensable,” Feinstein said. “But I’m saying it is important, and it is a major tool in ferreting out a potential terrorist attack.”

from her lack of oversight, going forward, I'm sure.

      She's doin' a helluva job . . .

"So, please stay where you are. Don't move and don't panic. Don't take off your shoes! Jobs is on the way."

    •  MSNBC has been on a total poop in the pants (7+ / 0-)

Noun Verb 9/11 rant all day.

Maybe it's time to bust up the NSA.

The Atomic Energy Commission which was essentially The Manhattan Project turned into a government agency just after WWII. In the 1950's the Eisenhower administration started the Atoms for Peace initiate, promote safe civilian nuclear power.  This made the AEC a little funny in the head. Promote nuclear power keep the Nuclear Genie in the bottle.  In 1964 China set off their bomb. Then in 1974 India set off their bomb. Congress said enough. The Civilian Reactors would now be administrated by a Nuclear Regulatory Administration and the Nukes would be controlled by the Energy Research and Development administration.  The ERDA became part of the Department of Energy in 1977.

All these NSA programs costing billions of dollars annually failed to stop two morons with a moron proof weapons system in Boston. For those of us with formal science training understand you have a "Ravioli of Death" you just have to vary the filling and you have a far more devastating weapon.

They killed the AEC in the middle of the cold war and we're still here time to do the same to the NSA......

I want 1 less Tiny Coffin, Why Don't You? Support The President's Gun Violence Plan.
