  •  You need to mention two other great campaign docs (9+ / 0-)

HBO's "By the People: The Election of Barack Obama" told the story of the 2008 election through those that made it happen: campaign volunteers and low and middle-level workers. I doubt that anyone in the Obama White House every watched this as their first three years proved that they missed the message of the Obama 2008 campaign: when use the energy of those who want to make fundamental change in America amazing things can happen.

The other great documentary is the "Unseen Al Gore Campaign Video" by Spike Jonze. (Google it.) This was the intimate look at Gore and his family that the Dems refused to be shown at the 2000 Democratic Convention. Talk about humanizing someone! This reminded me of so many families I know, including my own. I strongly believe that if the Spike Jonze film was shown at the convention so many peoples' opinion of Gore would have taken a 180 and the 2000 "election" would not have been close enough to steal.

Keep your eyes on the prize.

It includes lots of funny clips of the Iowa caucuses that gave Romney his start.. sort of. On caucus night, Romney was declared winner, but a few days later when they counted all the votes correctly, Rick Santorum won.

    •  I have to disagree about where the responsibility (0+ / 0-)

lies for missing the message of the campaign.  It was the PEOPLE who abandoned the cause and left the President dangling.  Where were you from 2000-2008?
