Teachers are such selfless public servants! :b

My junior high home room teacher tried to bully the creativity out of me. I'm basing an evil alien overlord on her. The moral is that if you're going to bully the creativity out of somebody, do a complete job....

Two high school teachers only tired to browbeat creativity out of me. One inspired the snotty personality of a catgirl. The other didn't even have enough personality to lampoon.

Other, about a third of my educators can cram it with their pet playing. Half of the rest can quit indifferently coasting on tenure or institutional inertia.

if they start bullying and stifling creativity and individuality out of kids.   There are many good teachers and that I will say but there are many who do teach who should learn that wanting a kid to learn from your method is as important as a lesson plan.   Good Teachers back in the 60's was was a rare experience.  I had about half and half but the really good teacher challenged me not berated me.
      Big difference.

where an elephant in a trenchcoat surprises a guy at his mailbox:

Remember me, Mr. Schneider? Kenya, 1947. If you're going to shoot an elephant, Mr. Schneider, you'd better be prepared to finish the job

Out of the 20 something HS I teachers I had, only one was in any way, shape, or form a nasty individual. And one other would have been better suited to university level teaching.

      •  A lot about my school was probably atypical. (2+ / 0-)

The old East Monona district in rural western Iowa. It was in its death throes when I was there in the '70s. It went through dissolution about 10 years ago. I bought some science and AV stuff at the auction to play with.
