  •  What would be "real" the inflation rate (3+ / 0-)

    if it didn't exclude food and energy?  Items that represent a large portion of most consumer's budgets.

    Years ago, it was acknowledged that poor monetary policy, chiefly claiming low inflation, lead to the bubbles whose popping kicked off the recession.  I know that I personally am experiencing what feels a hell of a lot like inflation, while being told that there is no such thing.  Sounds like a repeat of the same mistake in the making to me.
