    In a somewhat ironic twist, most of the redder jurisdictions in Virginia rely on electronic voting machines that leave no paper trail for individual votes, so there simply weren't undervotes to be discovered there.

    That fundamental defect should be exterminated. But since it has affected elections for both parties (and surely for the smaller ones as well) for at least a generation now, it's obvious the duopoly parties (merely fundraising/electioneering clubs) have no interest in fixing it. They'd rather just fight for the power to count the votes, through whatever contorted process they can find.
