    It had a cassette tape for storage. I remember spending hours typing in programs and then spending many more hours trying to find the comma that should have been a period.

    I soon upgraded to the Commodore 64. Floppy Disks!! Woo Hooo!

      Except I didn't get the cassette drive right away, so my method of program storage was writing them down on yellow legal pads.  And I never bought any software for the VIC 20, I just wrote little programs in BASIC.  

      After that, I got an Atari 1040ST, which was quite capable for the time, and it had a floppy drive.  And then two floppy drives. And, finally, a 30 megabyte hard drive that was about the size of a small pizza box and cost something like $300.
