    corrected. I used the same language I accuse Rush Limbaugh and Fox news of using and didn't even realize it. I will begin using correct language for poor people from now on. Thank you for the advice. That's a good recommendation for abortion rights. I think I'm going to start using that! "It's not about abortion. It's about a person's right to medical privacy!"

    Oh, that would really be effective in using emotion to reach people. "Do you want the government to be able to step in and tell you what procedures you're allowed to have? What if they read your medical file and decided you couldn't have a cancer treatment because they were morally against it? A person's right to medical privacy is absolute!"

    George Lakoff is a certified genius when it comes to getting the language out there to reframe conversations and he's exactly right. Most progressives believe that as long as you have the facts on your side, that that makes you in the right and that should be it. No. Sadly, you have to be willing to engage the people and get their emotions involved on a visceral level. That's why the media is so effective. They show graphic scenes that elicit images of horror or anger and the people respond. We as progressives need to do the same. Great comment.
