how could I forget the best two? These are the two that helped start the great divide, in my opinion. Trickle down economics is a charlatan con job, worthy of a carny shyster. "I'll tell you what, you get me rich as the boss and I'll pay you more!" I don't know how this even got off the ground. This doesn't even make sense. This is like adding up 2 and 2 and getting squirrel. Wall Street glorification has been done, not only by businesses, but also by the media and Hollywood. Who doesn't remember films like Wall Street, Pretty Woman, even? These films told us quotes like, "Greed is good!" and "Money never sleeps!" No wonder people grew up thinking Wall Street was smarter than the rest of us and knew what was best for us. In truth, they had no more clue than the rest of us and just kept getting richer for the sake of getting richer. That's the lesson to take from Wall Street. Here's a new quote. "Greed never sleeps."

    •  The Wall Street motto is the same one used by PT (0+ / 0-)

Barnum, "There is a sucker born every minute".  Remember that and you will have everything you need to understand about Wall Street.

    •  The movie "Wall Street" was supposed to show (0+ / 0-)

the pitfalls of "greed is good." Instead, too many misinterpreted the message in much the same way that people misinterpret Springsteen's "Born in the USA" as some kind of pro-USA anthem, which is most definitely is not.

that is the problem with most of the programs on TV now and movies. The message gets lost or misinterpreted. Because of that, we now have a whole generation who thinks that that was the best film ever.
