    seen any of the reservations up here, so I can't compare.  I do here a lot of radio commercials, however, that are paid for by local tribes urging their members to "stay on the Rez", and go to school on the Rez, etc.

    I have to imagine that the reservations here aren't as bleak as the ones I remember seeing in Arizona, or else those radio spots would be falling upon deaf ears to be sure.

    Of course, there's a lot of casinos up here, and gaming revenue.  Arizona, certainly, had none of that back then.

    I really don't know how the gambling revenue alters the equation.  Certainly there are a few tribes that have become affluent enough that nobody really needs to work, but that's probably the exception and not the rule.

    Through early morning fog I see visions of the things to be the pains that are withheld for me I realize and I can see...
