    even Holy Mother Church doesn't require that much belief.  However, She does insist that She gets to make the rules, and to enforce them.

    As an American, I see plenty of laws I don't like, but that doesn't mean that the authorities can't enforce them.  Hey, I spent most of my life in states where I could've been imprisoned for acting on my homosexual inclinations, so I certainly know that score.  When faced with such a situation, one is left with the options of resignation, violating such laws and hoping for the best, working to change such laws, or finding another jurisdiction in which to live.

    I'll spare y'alls the rest of the analogy.
