as I have written in your previous diaries.

Te downtown Berkeley PO functions poorly because it is designed poorly for customer service.  It would need a massive overhaul to make it efficient and pleasant for customers.

Staffing there has been a problem for close to 20 years, and a lot of it hasn't been due to staffing levels.  Sadly, there has been a lot of unhelpful staff at this particular location.

Another location in downtown Berkeley, even in a much smaller space, could have much wider counter space and serve customers much more efficiently.  I would rather see a PO occupying one of the empty retail spots that would be at least as convenient to BART, UC, and other downtown spots.

The exterior of the building is nice.  The inside, not so much.

    •  It has benches to sit on. (0+ / 0-)

The one on Solano Ave, for example, has no place to sit while you are waiting, you have to stand in line.

It has tables for people to use, and I'll have to look but it seems to me it has a fair amount of counter space.

I don't understand what the problem is with the interior other than not having enough servicers for the volume of customers.
