  •  I really hope this guy wins... (14+ / 0-)

the nomination. A lot of Texans are crazy (I'm a former Texan, so I know), but most aren't THAT crazy. Him getting the nomination will just make Wendy Davis' path to the governor's mansion that much easier.

    Go Larry, go!

Went to school in Amarillo. But you know that was over 50 years ago. Back then there were so few people it was ridiculous. When I went back to visit Dallas it was overwhelmingly large. Not the same place with the same characters at all.

It seems that all my life we have been bombing someone, teaching them a lesson. Every day I understand more deeply how violent we are. Violent to others and violent to ourselves. - Robert Olmstead

You can't assume that a crazy Republican candidate will seal a general election win for a Democrat.  You may remember a particular imbecile who became POTUS that way.  And please let's not forget the VP candidate for John McCain.  She could have been a heartbeat away from the presidency.  GWB was a disaster for America and I shudder to imagine what the Palin Administration could have been like.

      •  No, I'm not assuming anything. (0+ / 0-)

Even with this guy on the ballot against Wendy Davis, Wendy would still have to fight hard to win the election. However, Texas does have enough moderate Republicans that would be turned off enough by Larry that they would either stay home on election day or vote for Wendy Davis (or a 3rd party candidate).

As much as Texans like the idea of being able to secede from the US and become their own country again, if it actually came down to it, the majority would vote for sanity instead of secession.
