An orange, something chocolate, and a candy cane. Each year the candy cane got bigger and bigger. Mom would put other small gifts in there too but those three edible presents were always included.

I used to stuff a stocking for Dusty but stopped after he pulled his stocking and half the other presents down onto his head in his excitement to find out what goodies awaited him. He can get a little intense sometimes!

happy with his gift this year?

My mother didn't have any tradition with stockings.  I think she just tossed in whatever would fit.  And sometimes, she would stuff it pretty tight and full.  ;-) Not having a tradition was good because you never knew what to expect.

to warm up but once he remembered what it was all about it didn't take him long to get into the spirit of opening his presents. He loves to rip them apart because 9 times out of 10 there's something edible inside! So much so that he wanted to tear open mine too. I had to play tug-o-war with him over one gift meant for me...
