  •  I am so sorry for your loss Edrie. (12+ / 0-)

At this time of year I am so glad to have been raised an atheist, not celebrating Christmas.

But I do a bit. My Credit Union was collecting toys for kids and I gave a box of new stuff.

I'm mailing the guy who does my recycling a gift card today.

And I have participated in the Secret Santa diaries here on DKos. Mostly to support the artisans but also to be able to help give folks little pretties on a holiday.

    Your jewelry is beautiful Edrie!

Tracy B Ann - technically that is my signature. If I had Bill Gates money, I'd buy Detroit.

love - that is the true meaning of gifting.

it is the unexpected that can have such power to bring joy when it is least expected.  i still can imagine the look on the child's face when he or she saw that new train with the track well used in my own time of joy.

children learn from others - and they carry that forward to teach the next generation.

thank you for sharing that love!

EdriesShop Is it kind? is it true? is it necessary?

husband atheist but they celebrate the secular Christmas.
They do it  up just as big with the gifts, the tree, the lights and nice dinner, wine, and so on.

So many celebrate secular christmas too and they are just as generous , sometimes more generous and more fun to be around at Christmas parties than the religious ones we know.

In fact, my atheist friends seem to have more fun at Christmas and do it up just as big as my more religious relatives.

As Christmas started out as Secular and it was a Winter Solstice holiday with food, drink and so on.   I have a lot of friends who celebrate only secular christmas and we are that way too recently.
