  •  My current cat, a rescue, is 15, all black and (10+ / 0-)

not tolerant of other cats, so when the 2nd cat died, I didn't get a replacement. But tuxedo cats are among my faves. I had a long-haired tuxedo cat many years ago who I took on from a friend who had found her as a stray but couldn't keep her. I called her Duchess because of the ruff, and she looked just so darn regal.

She died of old age eventually, but was unique in that she enjoyed moving house and exploring new places...weird. I was happy to oblige her, as I used to be a restless, rootless soul, moving frequently. I still mourn her, even though that was at least 20 years ago.

Thanks for such a nice Christmas story. Happy Holidays to you and your menagerie!

    •  This group of cats has only known one home. (8+ / 0-)

But TOra and Mikei whom we adopted in Japan, were in two countries and in 6 houses--military life.

I still miss Corwin who was my familiar--lost him in 94 and he's still in my heart and always will be. Solid black Maine Coon/Siamese mnix, Sean Connery in catform. He looked more Maine Coon but he had the basso profundo meow of a true Siamese.

The last time we mixed religion and politics people got burned at the stake.
