  •  I need to do a lot better too (9+ / 0-)

but it's been hard -- the whole situation with Mr. Scribe helping his mom and brother is taking a toll on me. Didn't really feel like going out and braving the crowds to shop today so I decided to do his present in parts; part one is courtesy of Amazon (even paying the extra $$ for gift wrap and one-day shipping; package should arrive tomorrow), part two will be sometime after Christmas.

Will definitely have to get out tomorrow to finish shopping for his mom and brother. Mom's still deciding if she wants us to take her to her normal church (or what was her normal church before everything went to Hell in a hand basket) or if she's willing to go to the Episcopal church right up the street from her nursing center which would mean less time for her out and about so less risk of incontinence issues with her diaper. We went to the latter church last year because she was running late, and we all quite enjoyed it (we went to the early service and the kids of the church did their Christmas pageant; it was a total hoot).

In the New Year I really want to do better; eat better, exercise, get things cleaned up around here, the works.

    •  I don't think of them as resolutions, but perhaps (7+ / 0-)

      that is what they are!

(I don't care, as long as they help me progress!)

I wish you the very best in 2014, Cali Scribe!

      •  Thanks -- (8+ / 0-)

going to sign off the computer and go flip between hockey and football. (The football was not going well last I looked; maybe not watching brought luck.) Plus, noticing that the Meatless Monday diary has hit the front page just seems to be an indictment of those of us Kossacks who are carnivores (can't help it -- it's just how I feel), so I might be better off elsewhere waiting for my beloved to get home from yet another afternoon with his mom. Sigh...
