My son has been in the hospital 5 times in the past 6 years.
Everyone agrees he belongs in the STATE mental hospital.
There is a long waiting list. On a scale of 1-10,my son runs between a 8 and 9 on the Ill stage. You need to be a 10 to
get in.Doctors have pleaded with the Court to keep him for
at least a year or longer.Something is making him angrier every year.
    Thanks for your concern.

    •  Yes and it sounds like they have not been able to (0+ / 0-)

find the right combination of psychiatric medcations that works best for him. Or sometimes medications needs changedor dosages increased more frequently than what actually occurs.

Sometimes it can take years to get the right combo of medications that works best for each particular patient. As everyone is different and while some do well with a particular drug..for my sister in law,. it was injections of prolixin rather than pill form. Plus she would get these injectinos every 2 weeks and then not taking her meds stopped being an issue. That was such a godsend for her, the injections. But they do not work for everyone.

But she would report to the clinic for her injections or they would come to her house and get her over to the clinic.

The sad thing is the younger the person, the more symptomatic they often are and this is the tough phase. The good news is by the time most reach middle age and  then hit the senior years, the symptoms tend to decrease ..those 20s and 30s especially can be very rough for some as the disease seems to really run rampant with the psychotic features. My heart goes out to you.
