What about Patty Murray and the budget negotiators who agreed to a budget w/o the EUC extension? What about the Democrats in both Houses who voted for a budget that spat on the 1.3 million long-term unemployed Americans? They deserve your contempt, too.

    •  Yes, this ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ (0+ / 0-)

The Democrats are just as guilty at this point.  I could puke on both of my Democratic Senators.

Wreck their pretty 1%er suits. They are worse than useless. They are complicit.

I don't think the Tea Party would hesitated to shut the government down again.  This budget deal at least forestalls that.  I think Murray and the Democrats are counting on public pressure to extend unemployment benefits.  We need to step up to the task, they can't do it alone.

Republicans like to say the unemployed are lazy freeloaders who don't want to work.  It serves their purposes to stereotype them that way.  When Walmart opened a store near Chicago, 25,000 people applied for 325 job openings.   When 2 Walmarts opened near DC, 23,000 people applied for 600 jobs.  When a Target opened in New Mexico, 7000 applied for 200 jobs.  When a GE factory opened in Kentucky, 10,000 unemployed workers applied for 90 jobs.

That people in those numbers apply for lousy, part-time, low wage jobs shows you just how much the unemployed want to work.  And it shows you just how bad the job market really is.

    •  Excellent! The Dem's better be careful, they voted (0+ / 0-)

The brush can paint large on this one. I heard nothing but silence from the liberal party, except for a desire to go home.
