  •  I don't trust the polling, and I think Dems (8+ / 0-)

can win big next year if they play hardball in the right way.

    •  I think we can win too. (0+ / 0-)

But exactly what is "hardball the right way?" This is what we all have to decide, this is what we face. This is what this site spends most of its time arguing about.

Whatever we did in 2010 did not work. And, it is simply a sorry fact that historically, Democrats have a poor voting record in the mid terms. So. What do we do differently?

I would suggest that the first thing we do is sing our praises instead of our disappointments. We have a good deal to be proud of, imo, and particularly in comparison to the GOP.

Republicans don't do "introspection," Democrats do too much of it. Like I said in my diary, wars and elections are either/or, much more than they're about nuance.

      •  First of all, while the admin. is getting (5+ / 0-)

the bugs out of the ACA, the Dems nationwide need to go on the offensive on health care reform. I think VT and CA need to go forward with single payer, and any other blue state that thinks it's ready.

Then we need to use the goop voter suppression against them and make sure it motivates record turnout, as it did in 2012.

I've heard some rumbles about student debt relief and reform. I'd be looking at that seriously.

Then we need to out-shout the gop, and force our narrative, (the factual one) into the media.

One other thing I think may break the mold and the prediction models will be the female vote and the women candidates.
But I think we have to be aggressive, and we have to believe that we can win, and maintain morale, and not throw up our hands, throw in the towel, curl up in a fetal position, etc.

You can't make this stuff up.
