      'Cause fitting in with my local milieu would mean I'd have to lose about 60 IQ points.

      Like ignoring, or even pressure to throw away, good skills like creative or technical aptitude because it's not the all mighty Sports and Spelling in school.

      Being an outcast because the cliques are too cliquey to have anything to do with you. Farmboys aren't supposed to have suburban white-collar interests like the Comics, Sci Fi, and Alt Rock. Then being an outcast among the Comics, Sci Fi, and Alt Rock people because I'm off the farm insetad of being oh soooo kayewel to grow up in the white collar suburbs. That was an insult to the injury that felt a lot like abandonment and betrayal.
