    Some days, I think we're living in the early 1800s and talking about slaves or the late 1800s and talking about the Irish or whatever.

    People have such huge misconceptions just because people are poor -- they're stupid, they're drug addicts, they're drunks, they're theives, etc, etc.

    This study shows that people are capable of making decent decisions if anyone ever asks them what they think is best, rather than imposing a (usually prejudicial) solution upon them.

    We desperately need a public sense of faith, hope and charity in our politicians.  Because they are the rat-bastards who perpetuate this problem while doling out billions upon billions to the already wealthy.
