    the amounts vary, but R&D spending is typically less than 5% of revenues. It's the traditional areas of making and selling products that have the most employees. Without higher demand we won't see more employment.

      that is why just the extension of the now expired unemployment benefits lead to 200,000 new jobs - because those benefits get spent

      pay their workers more - those workers will spend the money.  That creates more demand.
