  •  There are lots of ineffective therapies (0+ / 0-)

I am grateful to be able to witness miracles every day. All therapists project...I worry as much about the ones who say they are "healthy" and "have a perfect life".

People are people...look into's changes the paradigm:

    1) it address structurally therapist and client transference and projection
    2) it is based on empirically tested skills
    3) it holds therapists accountable for their outcomes and encourages research instead of anecdotal evidence
    4) it changes the thinking and skill level of both therapist and client.

    Great discussion...never give up!

I'm sure you see that a lot in your patients - "proving" someone has a problem is one of the dominant activities of personality disorders, "evidence" is their holy grail.  The borderline I know has once more dragged yet another person to yet another counselor so the borderline can "prove" that they are the victim in yet another relationship. I think Al-Anon would have been a lot more productive.

Have you seen my various diaries on aggression, hatred, projection, and projective identification?

Men are so necessarily mad, that not to be mad would amount to another form of madness. -Pascal
