    The mouthpieces will mouth off on cue no matter what.  It's their job.  

    Marcus and others are dutifully playing the role assigned to them.  They are either too stupid or too lazy to master the underlying issue -- NSA surveillance -- so they try to turn everything into a popularity contest.  Rather than try to determine whether Snowden's claims about the NSA are factually accurate, they speculate about his personality.  If you can discredit the messenger, maybe no one will listen to the message.

      If you can discredit the messenger, maybe no one will listen to the message.
      The only way you're really going to discredit a messenger is by dialogue about issues.  If the whole discussion descends into name-calling, cognitive dissonance takes over and nobody's opinion is changed.
