    The Addams Family
    Married ... with Children
    Third Rock from the Sun
    Yes, Minister/Yes, Prime Minister

Though I have to give credit and honorable mentions to "All In The Family," "The Mary Tyler Moore Show," "Cheers," and "Modern Family," too. Each series was ground-breaking in its own way.

Also, it's funny how even the successful shows took a while to find their audience. In today's crazy media environment, you have to wonder if cable network executives would ever have the patience to let a series like "Married ... with Children" or "M*A*S*H" find its viewers or just cancel it after the first season.

And really, where would political satire be without the late great Paul Eddington as the Right Hon. Jim Hacker and Nigel Hawthorne as Sir Humphrey Appleby?
