  •  What this man was doing... (0+ / 0-)

    was already against the law, and he was arrested for it.

    So, how does this successful enforcement of the law make the case for more and more onerous laws?

        Law enforcement identified this individual as a person breaking the law, and even ran a successful sting operation on him. This was the cause of the outstanding warrant for his arrest.

        How are UBCs necessitated in this instance?

      All dealers must be licensed, either as an FFL or by the state where they operate a small business.

      All sales/transfers must go through a licensed dealer, with free background checks for estate transfers by people who have not died yet. Grampy can gift the family heirloom gun to his 12 year old granddaughter only if the parent or guardian can pass a background check.

      Upon transfer the new owner becomes responsible to report lost or stolen guns to the police with 24 hours.

      Any other elementary questions, Neo?

      •  Yes, a very important one: (0+ / 0-)

        How does this incident make the case for such checks to be put in place?

        They were not required for law enforcement to identify and charge this individual for illegal ownership and sale... so why?

          Nonsequitors, strawmen, repeated attempts to misdirect.

          Is that all you got?

            Where is the nonsequitor, where is the straw man?

            And I can hardly be accused of misdirection for asking the central tenant of this diary, that this incident makes a compelling case for UBC's, be supported.

            Is that all you got?

              Neo, I confess, I do get bored very easily. {shrink}
