Because it's definitely been about that before, right Chris? I'm gonna guess Mr Cilliza didn't get that quote straight from the last Democratic platform. I'd further guess he'd defend that word salad as a matter of public perception.

Why does this comedian get to call himself a journalist while Jon Stewart gets to lazily call himself a comedian?

    •  hey adam i have a question (0+ / 0-)

      hny btw

How could Elizabeth Warren run for president and win?

What advantages come with being president vs senator (like ted kennedy)?

      •  Can't say I have a strong interest in... (0+ / 0-)

gaming that first question out too far. Partially, at least, because I'd rather see her stick with the Senate, where she can run a multi-decade project if she wants to keep that seat.

We've all seen that even if the President does have magic levers at their disposal, they aren't really available for the more populist projects. I much rather have Senator Warren acting as a thorn in the side of big finance instead of taking them on directly when the political system just isn't interested in following her lead.

        •  so you don't think she would (0+ / 0-)

be powerful enough to effect change as president? the establishment and power that does not want the world to be a better place would be very limiting?

In my view, Elizabeth Warren will fight to the death and is smarter than the establishment to effect change. With a Democratic congress, she will be very effective. She will make no excuses unlike Obama at times with the Democratic Congress.

Pelosi pass hundreds of bills but the senate let a lot of them stall. Obama just let those bills sit for a variety of reasons (some of which are disconcerting and angering).

But I think things would be different with Elizabeth Warren.
