Two people locally died of the flu (not old geezers, a 30 yo woman and a 3 yo child), there was a 5.0 earthquake near Key West felt in Ft Lauderdale, it rained 6 inches in 2 hours at my house, lots of flooding and closures, and ....

    my computer started!

I banged around the start button a bit and reseated the power cable. Whether that helped at all or this is only a temporary victory, I don't know. That's all I could accomplish from the outside. If it acts up again, I'll have to check the innards. But with my thimble of knowledge about computers, I hope the fact that it restarted at all indicates the problem is not the motherboard.

    What about the climate cliff?

Well, "yay" about the computer.  I shall remain guardedly optimistic.  The other things ... ICK!

I'm glad you're still with us!

Ok... It must have been the earthquake... Yah. That's it. The computer just needed a little shaking....?

      ;-)

      A least the computer part.

Do check the innards.  Might just need some cleaning and the fasteners that hold the power cord and/or power button tightened down?

Check to make sure everything else is snugged in there, too, not loose and ready to disconnect. At least it's a start.

On the other news ... did you have flooding at your place?  You're staying warm and dry?

but to get to what connects to the button, you have to remove the optical card. Too scary.

No flooding at my house but the roads were a mess, parts of 95 closed. Our local rain news was eclipsed when Delray Beach had 18 inches last night. Stalled cold front, but freaky.

        What about the climate cliff?
