... from Seth Aaron.  Ok, fine, they gave him the win, and i'm certainly ok with that.  But i don't think it represented his best work.  Surely, he did the best he could within the constraints of time and the "matador" inspiration.  It just didn't WOW me.

I was Wow'd by some of Elena's work, though, particularly her use of that translucent yellow material that gave some of her cut outs an almost stained glass effect.  I thought that tequnique was very effective and intriguing.  That said, though, her collection had, as you said J, a few misses in it.  And i fear she may be a bit of a one trick pony.  But third place?  Really?  For that work in that amount of time?  No.

Korto's work just doesn't impress me.  The first long dress she sent down the runway was stunning, and yes, what woman wouldn't want to look like that model in that gown?  But there was nothing fashion forward about it.  I was floored Isaac said she was the most innovative designer, when to me, her work (even the most beautiful pieces) is circa 1975.

But it was a good show.  Oprah's Gail was a surprising and somewhat confusing addition to the judges panel.  But it was a good show.

PS:  For a moment, i though Seth Aaron dressed his matador model to look just like Mondo!  Clever, that. :)

loved Korto's sense and use of colour.  Not just pattern, but colour.  And I think her designs are aimed more towards women of colour as well, and suit more body types.  Even with a short and heavier build, that first gown (jumpsuit) would look lovely on an average sized woman (with appropriate alterations of course!)

Elena just drove me bananas.  I mean really.  And it was all personality, not design that drove me crazy.  Anytime I did see bits here and there, all I could think of is, I wish she'd grow up already!

I have never been a Seth Aaron fan - not even during his season.  But he CAN tailor, and he definitely does have a very evident point of view.  I'm really surprised by Jeffrey's performance overall, I was NOT a fan of his either, but his final runway show during his season he did have strong pieces.

bleh.  overall, I wasn't impressed with this all-star season.  I think most of all that alyssa drove me nuts.  I just couldn't get past her... pomposity.
