    when inhaled is far more toxic than the other radionuclides we may be exposed to. And the extremely long half-lives of the various isotopes are part of the reason for that, compared to, say, Iodine 131's eight day half life.

    But then again, you may have a point - the short term problems are so overwhelming that worrying about the additional dangers posed by Plutonium might be as much a distraction as a useful exercise.
