  •  How is questioning belief "bigotry" (17+ / 0-)

You're really equating critical thinking with Segregation?

Need I remind you that segregation and slavery were defended on a biblical/religious basis? And if you consult the bible, the slaveowners were right. The bible does not condemn slavery and seems to expect slavery would go on forever.

It is the same as lumping all black people or all Jews or all gays or all anything or anyone into a camp.
Or Republicans. I guess we're all bigots for assuming that Republicans all act the same way.
The bigotry against people of faith on this site is a huge blind spot for the DailyKos community.
Oh, the Christians are so persecuted because people dare possibly question their beliefs. I feel about as concerned with the plight of persecuted Christians as I do about the plight of the white male today. I guess I'm just a bigot.

Maybe one day, the white male Christians will finally organize and take back some political power from those evil bigot nonreligious people. Some day . . .

When we stop putting leaders from the past up on pedestals and ignoring their flaws, we can start seeing our present leaders for what they really are.
