The point is that the "family values" and "religious values" politicians do use their morality to get elected.  Nine of them were mentioned in the original post.  Does your example include a real life name or did you make it up?

people on assistance. And many businesses openly discriminate against applicants who are currently not working. It would be an issue if these companies were called out on this hypocrisy by someone.

    •  The problem here isn't the existence of religion, (1+ / 0-)

but a certain type of religion that is very cult like, and manipulates followers, followers who are very much willing to be manipulated. There is a cognitive dissonance among the right wing megachurch  crowd that will ignore the beam in their own guy's eye, and not only obsess about the speck in the other guy's eye, but even invent specks to obsess about.

But my point in the above post is that one does not have to be part of the religious world to be hypocritical, and even get away with it. Hillary fight for the common people and their rights to organize, but she's on the board of directors of Wal-Mart. And we'll probably give her a pass if we see she's the sure winner of the primary in 2014, because we know she'll be better than whatever the Republicans put up. And this is probably the same way these so-called values voters think. They'll vote for the most horrible scoundrel over any one of our candidates, because they'll vote the way they want.
