    In any event, suggesting that Corvo fit the description would be so absurd that another explanation for the use of the term is probably more likely.

    As a general point, I'm far from convinced that use of "Teabagger" ot "Firebagger" helps us much, even when applied to the far right.

    I hope that the quality of debate will improve,
    but I fear we will remain Democrats.

      I agree with you Twigg, I don't think the insult was directed at Corvo, or anyone here - looks to me like the "Firebagger" was aimed at Her Supremeness, and given the week she's had generating WTF moments for our side, it's not all that harsh.

        It is an insult used by Obama's fans against Obama's critics on the left. The notion is that Obama's critics on the left are as extreme as tea baggers.

        It is not plausible that the insult was directed at Sotomayor.
